ENT CMEThe cancers of the head and neck can form in the mouth, throat, voice box (larynx), nose, paranasal sinuses or salivary glands. About 90% of all head and neck cancers are squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCC). The five-year overall survival rate of patients with HNSCC is about 40-50%. The annual incidence of head and neck cancers worldwide is more than 550,000 cases with around 300,000 deaths each year. Overall, 57.5% of global head and neck cancers occur in Asia especially in India. Head and neck cancers in India account for 30% of all cancers. 
The Department of ENT at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur had organized an e-CME on “Surgical principles of Head and Neck Cancer” on 27th July 2021 on the occasion of World Head and Neck cancer day. It was focused at updating medical fraternity about principles in management of head and neck cancer. This consisted of lectures followed by interactive question and answer session. The Key note speaker was Dr. Kaberi Kakati, who is working as Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Head and Neck Oncosurgery at Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati, Assam. The welcome speech was given by Dr Manish Shrigiriwar, Officiating Medical Superintendent, AIIMS Nagpur. The guest speaker was introduced by Dr Shrikrishna B H, Additional Professor of ENT department, AIIMS Nagpur. The lecture was followed by Question and Answer session conducted by Dr Kiran Kumar Prathipati. Vote of thanks was given by Dr Vijay Bidkar. The event was managed by Dr Sandeep Dabhekar, Assistant Professor of ENT Department. 
    More than 85 delegates had logged in for the E CME. Relevant topics and queries of participants were discussed. The event was successfully conducted under the guidance of Director & CEO Maj Gen (Dr) Vibha Dutta, SM and Officiating Medical Superintendent Dr. Manish Shrigiriwar.
