The Department of Ophthalmology, AIIMS Nagpur celebrated the “World Glaucoma Week” to raise awareness on this often neglected and sight threatening disease- ‘a silent thief of vision’. A poster highlighting the symptoms and progression of the disease was displayed at the Ophthalmology OPD counter. Our faculty gave talks covering introduction, signs, symptoms and treatment including available investigations for glaucoma. All the queries raised by patients visiting the OPD were answered, resulting in very fruitful interactive sessions on glaucoma awareness. 

The patient centered initiative in the form of glaucoma education flyers, scanning of QR code with videos explaining the manifestations of the disease in vernacular language and screening for its symptoms aimed at raising awareness about this blinding disease.
