Dr. Ganesh Dakhale is National President of NPT (Pharmacology Association)
Dr. Ganesh Dakhale, Dean (Exam), Professor and Head, Pharmacology at AIIMS Nagpur, has been installed as the President of the National Association of Pharmacology & Therapeutics (NPT). The announcement was made during the 4th National Conference, NAPTICON 2025, held in Coimbatore from 27–29 November. Along with him, Dr Parveen Sharma from Himachal Pradesh took charge of General Secretary of this prestigious association.
In his presidential address, Dr. Dakhale expressed heartfelt gratitude to the members and acknowledged the strong legacy built by senior leaders including Dr. Padmaja Udaykumar, Dr. R. K. Dixit, Dr. C. M. Kamaal, and many other faculties who contributed significantly to the growth of the association. He also extended special thanks to Dr. Prashant Joshi, Executive Director, AIIMS Nagpur, for his unwavering support.
A distinguished academician, Dr. Dakhale has served as Dean (Examination) for six years, successfully completed tenure as General Secretary of NPT (2023-2025), and organized NAPTICON 2024 at AIIMS Nagpur. He is also Nodal Officer for ICMR-INTENT program, a GCP expert who has trained over 5,000 professionals, and currently serves as Chair, Ethics Council, ISCR. He has received ISCR Hall of Fame Award and Best Teacher Award.
Dr. Dakhale aims to focus on teaching, research, and collaboration. He emphasized on enhancing capacity-building through high-quality training programs, workshops, to promote research. He also stressed deeper engagement with CDSCO, NMC, and industry partners to advance regulatory understanding with safe and effective use of medicines. Dr Dakhale’s appointment has been widely applauded by his peers and the broader medical fraternity. He expressed his gratitude to his family members, NPT members, and executive committee for their support and trust.
