(National gathering to focus on safer care for people with long-term illnesses) Nagpur, 9 September 2026: The All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Nagpur, will host the National Conference on Patient Safety 2026 on 11 and 12 September 2026 at the AIIMS Nagpur Auditorium. The Conference is being organized in collaboration with the National Patient Safety Secretariat (NPSS), Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India. Hon’ble Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, will grace the Conference on 12 September 2026 as the Chief Guest. His presence will add significance to this national initiative aimed at strengthening patient safety and quality of healthcare across the country. The Eye Bank, AIIMS Nagpur, in collaboration with the Eye Bank of Madhav Netralaya, organized a Vehicle Rally to mark the celebration of the 40th Eye Donation Fortnight Awareness Campaign. The rally commenced from Gajanan Nagar and concluded at Madhav Netralaya, Vasudev Nagar. Dr. Prashant P. Joshi, Executive Director and CEO, AIIMS Nagpur, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The program also featured a thought-provoking awareness skit performed by children, aimed at busting myths surrounding eye donation and encouraging the community to come forward for this noble cause, in addition to a slogan contest for placards used for awareness by PGs of Ophthalmology AIIMS, Nagpur.

AIIMS Nagpur Observes World Sepsis Week 2025 from September 9th to 13th All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Nagpur recently concluded a week-long awareness program on sepsis, a life-threatening condition that affects millions worldwide. The Department of Anaesthesiology, under the guidance of Executive Director Dr. Prashant P. Joshi, organized various activities from September 9th to 13th, 2025, to raise awareness about sepsis prevention and management. The program commenced on September 9th with academic sessions for residents doctors and nursing students, followed by awareness drives for patients and relatives. On September 13th, World Sepsis Day, a special program was held at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) Nagpur to educate engineering students about sepsis and its prevention.
