AIIMS, Nagpur conducted various activities on occasion of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Breast cancer is a leading site of cancer in the world and in India. Hence, Pinktober, October month is observed as a Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As a part of this various activities aimed at spreading awareness and early detection of disease were conducted by Department of Radiation Oncology in collaboration with department of Community Medicine and College of Nursing, AIIMS, Nagpur, and Indian Red Cross Society, Nagpur branch.

Multiple session of Breast cancer awareness followed by breast cancer screening were conducted for AIIMS, Nagpur employees and students, general public, and the vulnerable population of Dobi Maidan, Juni Mangalwari area of Nagpur.  

A breast cancer awareness rally followed by ‘Role Play’ on breast cancer awareness was conducted. The rally was flagged-off by the Honorable Executive Director and CEO, AIIMS, Nagpur Professor (Dr) P P Joshi.

These activities were conducted under the able leadership of Prof Dr P P Joshi (Executive Director and CEO), and with guidance and support of Dr Nilesh Nagdeve (Medical Superintendent), Dr Mrunal Phatak (Dean Academics), Dr Pradeep Deshmukh (Dean Research), Dr Siddharth Dubhashi (Dean Student Welfare), Dr Ganesh Dakhale (Dean Examination), Shri Vijay Kumar Nayak (Deputy Director Admin) and Dr Rajani Peter (Principal College of Nursing).
