Forensic Expansion Plan

     Forensic Department envisages vision to be centre of excellence for medicolegal services in central India by initiating services like: 

  • Nodal Centre for National Human Right Commission (NHRC) cases.
  • Embalming Service for dead body preservation.
  • Nodal Centre for One Stop Crisis Centre (OSCC) for survivors of sexual violence.
  • Forensic Anthropology Laboratory.
  • Accredited Toxicology Laboratory as a part of Poison Control Centre (PCC).
  • 24X7 Poison Information Services by dedicated calling facility.
  • As an activity of outreach society program, guiding the legal agency, medical professionals and general population about medico-legal queries through Telemedicine facility.
  • Medico-legal training to Magistrates, Police personnel and Medical officers.
  • DNA Lab for Forensic Identification.
  • Cadaver lab for medical teaching.
  • Organ retrieval Centre for cadaver organ donation.
  • Cadaver Skin and Bone Bank.  
  • For research purpose autopsy room will have Forensic Anthropology unit, Virtual autopsy room (PMCT), DNA Lab.
  • oxicology Garden: - Toxicology Garden is sanctioned and is under construction at AIIMS, Nagpur with 4000 Sq Ft area. The Toxicology Garden will have herbal herbs and plants which are poisonous in nature, for teaching purpose.
