About Department

The Pediatric Surgery deals with children, adolescents, neonates and even the unborn babies who require surgical consultation for various problems including congenital anomalies. Nearly 30% pediatric patient requires paediatric surgical services for varied reasons. In accordance with mission of Government of India under maternal and child health to address the major causes of mortality and morbidity among children, Department of Pediatric surgery at AIIMS Nagpur would provide comprehensive and empathetic care to the children and neonates in Vidarbha and neighbouring regions.

Our mission is to develop a state-of-art Pediatric Surgery department and to empower the faculties and trainees to be efficient in the fostering global competencies through advanced technology and research inculcating ethical value based learning. Creativity, professionalism, passion and optimism are the core values of our Department.

Our objective also includes a patient-centric evidence based management together with parental education. Addressing the other concerns of parents of children with surgical condition is another priority.
