Events: 

  1.  Conducted a 2-day Soft skill training program for the front desk personnel’s and receptionists.
  2.  Conducted sessions on Stress and Coping with COVID for the Front like workers ( FLW’s) i.e Nursing officers and housekeeping staff.
  3.  Training workshop on Workplace Mental Hygiene for Employees of Infosys, Nagpur.
  4.  8th March 2019 On occasion of International Women’s Day, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) organized a health awareness and screening camp for women, ‘Swasth Naari, Samarth Samaaj’, to address the under-recognised and overlooked physical and mental health concerns of women. Department of Psychiatry screened for various mental health ailments, with special emphasis on the emotional and psychological issues commonly seen during puberty, menstrual cycle, pregnancy and menopause. The program benefitted close to 200 women.
  5.  Department of Psychiatry, AIIMS Nagpur, organised a 2-day programme (9th and 10th Ocober 2019) “Mind Mela”, an interactive and engaging event with multitude of enthralling activities such as Short Film Competition Theme- “Prevent Suicide, celebrate Life”, E-poster and Memes on Positive Mental Health, and the Brain-o-Holic Quiz for the young medical students and the faculty of the Institute. The highlight of the programme was the thought-provoking Forum Discussion “Out of Box “in which Dr Sreelakshmi V and Dr Sonakshi Jyrwa, Assistant Professors of Psychiatry, exchanged thoughts and opinions on mental illness and suicide with the students and faculties of the Institute. Through an interesting and innovative approach, the views and opinions of the staff, students and faculties were dropped in anonymously, over the preceding week, into boxes called “Think Tanks” which were placed all across the institute, and addressed at the forum, thereby facilitating an open and robust discussion. The focus of the Forum Discussion was to sensitize the audience about suicide, dispel associated myths and stigma and educate them on their role in its prevention. The event concluded with the distribution of prizes to the winners of the various competitions held followed by a captivating address by the Director & CEO, AIIMS, Nagpur, Maj Gen (Dr) Vibha Dutta, SM, who emphasized on the need for optimism and resilience in one’s life and called for the destigmatisation of mental health.
  6.   The launch of public awareness video on COVID and Mental health in English and Hindi on April 7th, 2020.
  7.   1st May 2020: Department of Psychiatry, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Nagpur has started a dedicated helpline (0712-2352033) for mental health support for the public, with the aim to assist, counsel and provide the necessary psychological support during the COVID pandemic. The helpline, manned by psychiatrist, is available from 9am to 5pm on Weekdays, 9am to 1pm on Saturdays. 
  8.   On occasion of World Schizophrenia Day- “Do What You Can Do” on 24th May 2020, Dept of Psychiatry, AIIMS Nagpur were available on twitter to dispel the common myths & misconceptions related to schizophrenia, and address all the queries & concerns of the participating public.
  9.  The Department of Psychiatry, on the occasion of World Suicide prevention day is organized an online competition, “The Hope Note’’, for the faculty, staff and students of our Institute on 10th of September, 2020. The event saw the enthusiastic participation and heart-warming submissions of nearly 30 students, faculty and staff. 
  10.   On occasion of Mental health day on 10th October, 2020, Department of Psychiatry organized various engaging and invigorating activities, challenging the common myths and misconceptions related with mental illness and creating a safe space to openly discuss mental health. Events included 1. An online edutainment activity ‘Brain-o-holic Scavenger hunt’ for students, faculty and staff 2. An informative article in Times of India for public awareness on this year’s theme “Mental health For All: Greater Investment, Greater Access” 3. A social message on the theme on All India Radio (AIR), Nagpur. 4. Special Moving screening of “A Beautiful Mind” with discussion. 5. Launch of post COVID mental health services (collage) and 6. Live Q & A session on mental health, 'Minding our Minds' with renowned psychiatrist, Dr Harish Shetty.
  11.   Launch of ‘Aashvas’, an online mental health support group created for the front-line health care workers of the Institute, who are fighting the COVID Pandemic
