About Department

Introduction:

  • Introduction – The Department of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprology deals with the diagnosis and management of various disorders related to skin, hair and nails. It also includes treatment of various sexually transmitted diseases (STD) and HIV as well as leprosy. We are also involved in teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.
  • The department started its services on 7thSeptember, 2019 at the OPD complex of AIIMS, Nagpur. At present we have 4 dedicated faculty members in the department. There has been a tremendous increase in the footfall of patients over the past 3 years.
  • Scope of services – The Department of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprology provides OPD, IPD and minor OT services. Further, we provide teaching and training of medical students (both UG and PG), community services and also participate in relevant national health programs.
  • We aim to provide evidence-based, ethical, affordable and compassionate health care to the patients suffering with various skin diseases and to establish a centre of excellence in teaching and research.
