Microbiology Expansion plan
The department aims to develop state-of-art:
- NCDC BSL-3 Laboratory to diagnose high risk pathogens.
- Infectious Disease Research and Diagnostic Laboratories (IRDL) under ICMR
- TB containment laboratory for culture and DST of Mycobacterium tuberculosis
- Tissue culture laboratory for cultivation of viruses for diagnosis and research purpose
- CD4 count and HIV viral load laboratory for better management of PLHIV
- Anaerobic laboratory
- STI/RTI laboratory
