ASNCON (Association of Surgeons, Nagpur Conference) 2025 at AIIMS Nagpur
The Department of Surgery, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Nagpur, in association with the Association of Surgeons of Nagpur, successfully organized ASNCON 2025 (Association of Surgeons, Nagpur Conference), the annual two-day surgical conference held on October 25 and 26, 2025, at the AIIMS Nagpur Auditorium. The conference brought together eminent surgeons, faculty members, and postgraduate students for an enriching academic exchange under the theme — “Decision to Execution.”
The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Dr. Prashant P. Joshi, Executive Director, AIIMS Nagpur, who inaugurated the event. Dr. Mrunal Phatak, Dean Academics, AIIMS Nagpur, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honor, while Dr. Sachin Naik, Secretary, Maharashtra Chapter of the Association of Surgeons of India, was also present. Delivering the inaugural address, Dr. Siddharth P. Dubhashi, Dean Student Welfare and Professor & Head, Department of Surgery, AIIMS Nagpur, shared the concept and vision behind ASNCON. He emphasized the integration of surgical decision-making and precise execution to achieve excellence in patient care. Dr. Divish Saxena, President, Association of Surgeons of Nagpur, elaborated on the conference theme “Decision to Execution,” underlining its relevance in modern surgical practice.
The scientific program featured a series of academically rich sessions and interactive panel discussions. Postgraduate students actively participated by presenting research papers, scientific posters, and surgical video demonstrations, showcasing innovation and clinical insight. Awards for the best paper, poster, and video were presented to outstanding contributors, encouraging academic excellence among young surgeons. The Department of Surgery AIIMS Nagpur annual “SUSHRUTA ORATION” was delivered by internationally acclaimed oncosurgeon, Dr. Shailesh Puntambekar from Pune. Hands-on workshops on Endotrainer use, Stoma care, and Suturing & Knotting techniques offered participants valuable opportunities to enhance their practical surgical skills. The conference was attended by more than 150 delegates from Nagpur & Vidarbha region.
Dr. Gayatri Deshpande, Honorary Secretary, Association of Surgeons of Nagpur, proposed the vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of all dignitaries, speakers, participants, and organizers. Dr. Prashant Sawarkar, Organizing Secretary of ASNCON 2025, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all faculty and members of organizing committee. ASNCON 2025 received widespread appreciation for its academic excellence, seamless organization, and focus on evidence - based parameters for common surgical condition. The conference reaffirmed AIIMS Nagpur’s role as a leading hub for surgical teaching- learning, research, and innovation in central India.
