AIIMS Nagpur Hosts Insightful Workshop on Perioperative Neonatal Resuscitation

 

The Department of Anaesthesia and Critical Care at AIIMS Nagpur, under the aegis of the Neonatal Anaesthesia Society, proudly hosted a pre-conference workshop on perioperative neonatal resuscitation. The workshop, designed to enhance understanding and skills in managing neonatal emergencies and perioperative resuscitation, saw participation from leading experts and practitioners in the field.Nagpur, 

Dr. Anu Kewlani and Dr. Priya Thappa, the masters of ceremony, welcomed attendees to the event, emphasizing the critical importance of perioperative neonatal resuscitation. "Our goal is to equip participants with the knowledge and confidence necessary to handle neonatal emergencies, ensuring the best outcomes for our youngest patients," said Dr. Kewlani.

The agenda for the day included a series of meticulously prepared lectures by subject experts, followed by a practical session at various workstations. Topics covered ranged from the common causes of peri-operative neonatal cardiac arrest to the pharmacology of drugs used in neonatal resuscitation. Dr. Anita Saran, Dr. Thanigai Arasu, Dr. Barnali Chakraborty, Dr. Ridhima Sharma, Dr. Rashmi Shingade, Dr. Tanvi Meshram delivered lectures to enhance and update the knowledge on neonatal resuscitation. The workshop also featured a Problem-Based Learning Discussion (PBLD) session, led by Dr. Bhuvaneswari Balasubramanian and Dr. Barnali Chakraborty. This interactive session encouraged participants to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios, fostering collaborative learning and critical thinking. Workstations on neonatal airway, chest compressions, defibrillation, vascular access were conducted and headed by Dr Himangi Bhokare, Dr Amit Kumar, Dr Rashmi Shingade, Dr Anita Saran, Dr Thanigai, Dr Ridhima Sharma, Dr Barkha Agrawal, Dr Barnali Chakraborty. The workshop included an inauguration ceremony with addresses by notable figures Dr. (Prof.) Prashant P. Joshi, Executive Director AIIMS Nagpur, Mr. Vijay Kumar Nayak ( Deputy Director Administration), Dr. Gajanan Chavan, Organizing Chairperson PoNR & HOD Dept. of Anesthesiology & Critical Care, Dr. Ranju Gandhi, Treasurer NAS and  Dr. Amrusha Raipure, Organizing Secretary. The day concluded with a valedictory function, where organizers extended their gratitude to the Neonatal Anesthesia Society for organizing this academic extravaganza and to all the distinguished speakers and facilitators for their valuable contributions.
