International Prosthetics and Orthotics Day was celebrated at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur, the objective of which was to spread the importance and awareness of the treatment related to it among the general public and to educate more and more patients who are amputed arm and legs and are suffering from any kind of locomotor disability. In the program, Executive Director of the Institute Dr. P. Joshi, Medical Superintendent Dr. Seema Parvekar as chief guests, Dr. Swapnil Sonune and Dr. Harsh from the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and staff were present. It was told in the program that at present the institution provides orthotic treatment facilities, due to which more than 800 patients are being benefited every year. In the future, the facility of artificial limbs and other equipment manufactured by highly modern machines will be provided. . Due to which the disabled people and other patients of Nagpur and surrounding areas will be benefited. Apart from this, a free examination camp was also organized for the feet of diabetic patients using modern equipment.
