AIIMS Nagpur Inaugurates SysMet Nagpur 2024 Workshop on Systematic Review and Meta-analysis under the SARANSH Initiative

Nagpur, 21st October 2024: The Department of Community Medicine at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Nagpur, have organised the ‘SysMet Nagpur 2024’, a five-day workshop on Systematic Review and Meta-analysis from 21-25 October, 2024. This workshop is part of the SARANSH initiative of the Department of Health Research (DHR), aimed at regional capacity building of researchers in evidence synthesis methods.

The workshop was officially inaugurated by the Hon’ble Executive Director and CEO of AIIMS Nagpur, Dr Prashant P. Joshi on 21st October 2024. Dr Joshi, in his address, emphasized the importance of systematic research in improving healthcare decisions and outcomes. The inauguration was graced by the presence of other distinguished dignitaries, including Dr Mrunal Phatak, Dean Academics at AIIMS Nagpur, who emphasised on the importance of undertaking the systematic review workshops on a more frequent basis, and Dr Chanchal Goyal, representing the Department of Health Research as an observer. The organising secretory of the workshop, Dr Aravind Gandhi P, (Assistant Professor-Community Medicine) delivered the vote of thanks.

Thirty-two participants from various parts of Maharashtra, who had already engaged in weekly pre-conference sessions, are attending the workshop. The event offers an intensive learning experience designed to equip participants with advanced skills in systematic review and meta-analysis, essential for producing high-quality research in healthcare.

The SysMet Nagpur 2024 workshop underscores AIIMS Nagpur’s commitment to fostering excellence in academic research and its pivotal role in shaping the future of evidence-based medicine.
