AIIMS, Nagpur conducted various activities on occasion of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Pinktober, October month is celebrated as a Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As a part of this various activities were conducted by AIIMS, Nagpur.

Breast cancer awareness session followed by screening for breast cancer was conducted by the department of Radiation Oncology on 4^th October for general public at Out Patient Department Screening area, and on 5^th October for the non-faculty staff of AIIMS, Nagpur. Department of Radiation Oncology and Community Medicine jointly conducted the breast cancer awareness and screening camp at Urban Primary Health Centre, Nandanvan on 7^th October, and Rural Primary Health Centre, Bela on 9^th October.

A breast cancer awareness rally was conducted by the Radiation Oncology department on 19^th October which was followed by ‘A Role Play’ on breast cancer awareness by College of Nursing students. The rally was flagged-off by the Honorable Executive Director and CEO, AIIMS, Nagpur Professor(Dr) P P Joshi. The respected dignitaries and those who wish to support the noble cause participated in the rally.  ‘Celebrate Life’-A Cultural Event by Cancer Fighters was conducted by AIIMS, Nagpur in collaboration with the CARF(Cancer Awareness and Rehabilitation Foundation) on 19^th October. Cancer patients actively participated in the dance, drama and talk show.

Department of Radiation Oncology in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society conducted the Breast Cancer Awareness and screening session for the female sex workers on 22^nd October 20224.

These activities were conducted under the leadership of Prof Dr P P Joshi(Executive Director and CEO), and under the able guidance of Dr Mrunal Phatak (DeanAcademics),and  Dr Seema Parvekar(Medical Superintendent).
