Under the guidance and support of the visionary Executive Director AIIMS Nagpur, Dr Prashant Joshi an exemplary and remarkable case was successfully conducted at AIIMS Nagpur. A 26 yr old male, was admitted to AIIMS Nagpur on 10-DEC-2024 with diagnosis of Synovial cell sarcoma right chest wall post 10 cycles of NACT. (Chemotherapy) He is a second year MBBS student and currently perusing his degree course in private medical college in Bhopal Madhyapradesh. Despite remarkable and outstanding health services located in the city of Bhopal, the medical student has chosen AIIMS Nagpur for the treatment of his severe debilitating medical condition. He visited department of surgical oncology OPD for further treatment. He was admitted under Dr Neelesh Shrivastava (Assistant Professor) Surgical Oncology and investigated further for fitness of surgery. He underwent elective procedure for Right Pneumonectomy (Complete removal of Right sided diseased lung) on 18/12/24. Operative team included Dr. Jaykumar (Additional professor), Surgical Oncology, Dr Hemant Bawankar (Associate Professor) CTVS, Dr. Shubhada Khanapure (Associate Professor), Surgical Oncology, Dr Neelesh Shrivastava (Assistant Professor) Surgical oncology, Dr Gajanan Chavan (Professor and HOD Anaesthesiology and critical care) and the team. He was shifted to SICU for post operative management and care. The patient was extubated and kept on face mask O2 support. Patient recovered well under the monitoring of SICU in charge Dr Sucheta Meshram and her team. He was shifted to ward on 26/12/24. He was planned for discharge but he developed febrile episodes in ward on 28/12/24. On investigations TLC count was raised so patient shifted back to SICU under Dr Sucheta Meshram for the management of severe sepsis that was managed by appropriate antibiotics and SICU care. Patient has recovered completely and is planned for discharge.
