The Hospital Administration of AIIMS Nagpur, in collaboration with the Department of Pharmacology and AMRIT pharmacy, commemorated the 7th Jan Aushadhi Diwas on March 7, 2025, at 10:45 AM. The event was held in the hospital premises and Executive Director Dr Prashant P Joshi graced the occasion. Dr Joshi highlighted the importance of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) and reason for celebrating the Jan Aushadhi Diwas. Other dignitaries who attended event were Dr Mrunal Phatak, Dean (Academics), Dr. Ganesh N. Dakhale, Dean (Examination) & Head of the Department of Pharmacology, Shri. Vijayakumar Nayak, DDA and Dr Nitin Marathe, Associate Professor, Department of Hospital administration. The welcome address was delivered by Dr Anant Khot, Additional Professor, Department of Pharmacology and he highlighted the availability of sanitary pad at 1 rupee and WHO-GMP certification of the products, which was followed by Nukkad Natak by the Nursing Officers of AIIMS, Nagpur emphasizing the quality and cheaper medicines (80-90% saving on medicines). Then Dr Ganesh Dakhale provided his expert opinion on the generic medicines and its role in the management of chronic illnesses. Then Shri. Vijayakumar Nayak, Deputy Director (Administration) provided the statistics and appreciated the performance of Jan Aushadhi Kendra at AIIMS, Nagpur. Dr Latika Bajaj, Assistant Professor and Officiating Nursing Superintendent proposed the vote of thanks. This event was followed by the awareness rally by the pharmacists and Nursing students within the hospital premises.
