AIIMS Nagpur Celebrates International Women's Day with Empowering Program

    On the occasion of International Women's Day 2024, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at AIIMS Nagpur, in collaboration with the Departments of Psychiatry and Dermatology,     organized a significant program centered around the theme "Empowering Girls: Celebrating Women’s Day with Knowledge and Confidence." Under the esteemed leadership of Dr Prashant P. Joshi,     our honorable Executive Director, the event emphasized the vital aspects of gender equality, empowerment of women and girls, and their rights to lead healthier lives.

  Dr Shuchita Mundle, Professor and Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, shed light on the crucial topic of menstrual hygiene, often considered taboo, and discussed its importance in women's health.

 Dr Sanjiv Vijay Choudhary, Professor and Head of the Department of Dermatology, emphasized the necessity of investing in women's growth for the accelerated progress of any nation. Dr Ankita   Srivastava, Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology, addressed dermatology-related concerns among adolescent groups.

 Dr. Sreelakshmi V, Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, delivered a concise talk on the significance of maintaining mental health among women. Dr. Kavisha from the Department of   Obstetrics and Gynecology debunked myths surrounding menstrual hygiene.

 The program featured enthusiastic role plays conducted by interns from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the TeleMANAS unit of the Psychiatry Department. These role plays   highlighted critical issues concerning menstrual hygiene and mental health during adolescence.

 The entire program was efficiently managed by Dr Anita Yadav, Additional Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and her dedicated team of doctors (Dr Anusha Kamath, Dr Neha   Gangane, Dr Medha Davile, Dr Amruta Choudhary, Dr Amrita Singh). Dr Shipra Sonkusare, Additional Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, concluded the event by expressing   gratitude to all attendees.
